On August 30, 1781 General Francis Marion and a force of four hundred Patriots battled five hundred and forty British at the Battle of Parkers Ferry, forcing them to withdraw to Charleston. This weekend event, held at Bluefield Plantation, will include a re-enactment of the battle, educational programs, troop movements, and musket firings by the individual units.
